Volunteers needed for Operation Lorax

Volunteers needed for Operation Lorax

Calling all volunteers!

The Kittitas County Chapter of the American Red Cross is hosting a tree planting event in Cle Elum this Saturday, October 27th, as part of “National Make a Difference Day“.

The event, entitled “Operation LORAX“, will give volunteers the opportunity to plant trees in efforts to restore areas of the county damaged by severe wildfires this summer.

The emphasis of the event is on youth involvement, although everyone is welcome to participate, and the Red Cross will be distributing Lorax mustaches to children who volunteer.

Following completion of the planting process, each child will also be granted a certificate recognizing them as an honorary “Protector of the Trees.”

Become a “Protector of the Trees” this Saturday, October 27th. Sign up today! For more information call (509) 834-2664 or visit:http://www.inwredcross.org.
