Trail Maintenance

Squak volunteers on stepsThere are over 1,000 miles of trails in the Mountains to Sound Greenway, giving the 3.3 million people in King, Kittitas, Snohomish and Pierce Counties access to magnificent recreational opportunities.

The Greenway Trails Program completes annual improvements and maintenance on over 100 miles of trails in the Greenway corridor along Interstate 90 each year. Greenway staff, conservation corps field crews and volunteers have rebuilt significant portions and made upgrades to icon trails including Mount Si, Little Si, several trails on Tiger Mountain and Squak Mountain, Granite Mountain and the new Rattlesnake Mountain Trail.

Working in partnership with land managers including the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, Washington State Parks, the City of Issaquah, City of Mercer Island, Seattle Public Utilities, Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest and King County, the Greenway Trust engages volunteers who donate thousands of hours each year to trail improvement projects.
